The Final Stretch
Week 4 Of My Marketing Project With SBSA
Recap -
If you are unfamiliar with my current project series on my blog, I am currently working with a large engineering company (SBSA) to tailor a marketing campaign aimed at recruiting young people to work for their company.
Update -
During the final week of my work on this project, I finalized my ads to be run in the ad campaign for SBSA and got a budget approved to do so. I also edited and submitted all of the EVP material I gathered last week to SBSA’s creative team. Finally I once again got in contact with the marketing director at SBSA to set a timeframe for running the campaign and set a launch date.
What did I accomplish this week?
Finished creating the ads that will be run in the Facebook campaign
Set up a complete timeline for the ad campaign and got a budget approved.
Learned how to launch my campaign through Facebook Ad Manager.
Edited all EVP material to be used within the campaign
What challenges did I encounter?
I only had 2 days to finalize everything because I was out of town for half the week so I had to work through the night a couple times.
The holiday schedule of the SBSA marketing director made it difficult to maintain solid contact to get everything set in stone.
I have run into countless technical errors both within Facebook Ad Manager and on my website over the last few days that made it hard to progress.
Take-aways -
This entire project has been a crazy challenge. It began with scheduling errors or budget issues that forced me to re-draft my plan 3 times over, and continued with me running into many roadblocks throughout the entire process. I’ve had to scrap parts of my original plan and add entirely new ones since the month began. December is already the busiest month of the year for me and adding this project on top of it was quite a task. However, I’m proud of myself for pushing past those roadblocks and completing my goals on time. The ad campaign has been successfully put together and will be run as planned through the month of January 2020.
The skills that I gained and the lessons I learned over the last month have proven themselves to be very useful. I believe that as I continue to progress down the path of my future career, they will be invaluable. Everything from how to create a marketing campaign from scratch, to how to successfully work with a large business. I will continue to work with SBSA through the next month to expand this marketing campaign to their out of state offices to attempt to grow their team even further.
