A Week Of Planning
Week 2 Of My Marketing Project With SBSA
Recap -
If you are unfamiliar with my current project series on my blog, I am currently working with a large engineering company (SBSA) to tailor a marketing campaign aimed at recruiting young people to work for their company.
Update -
Over the last week I have been working with the head marketing consultant for the company to fully develop our plan. We plan to work with different department heads to create EVP’s (employee value propositions) to be used within our marketing campaign.
What did I accomplish this week?
Careful development of the procedures needed for a successful campaign
Learned the basics of Facebook ad manager (Our platform for digital marketing)
Contacted employees of SBSA and scheduled interviews for EVP creation
Research into different engineering fields as well as basic requirements these young employee prospects will need to meet
What challenges did I encounter?
Communication roadblocks due to the busy schedule of SBSA’s creative consultant
The project plan had to be re-drafted 3 times due to timing constraints
A very slow start and choppy flow of progress throughout the entire week
Take-aways -
As this project continues to develop, and things begin to progress according to plan, my confidence grows in it’s eventual success. I have spent many hours learning the secrets behind successful marketing. Everything from the psychological aspects to the technical details. Going into week 3 I should be interviewing people, creating EVP’s, and getting ready to launch our campaign very soon. I expect to run into small problems as the month goes on, but I don’t expect them to slow me down.
